If you have sleep Apnea please bring your CPAP compliance report with you. I will need it to complete your CDL certificate.
I want you to know that I care about every driver I see. I do not order sleep studies unless there is overwhelming evidence from your physical that indicates you have sleep apnea. I have had drivers tell me that a DOT doctor measured their neck size and sent the driver for a sleep study. Your neck size is not overwhelming evidence of sleep apnea and that will not happen in my office.
If you have any questions or concerns about sleep apnea , please call me and I will take the time to talk to you on the phone, even if you are not coming to my office for your physical.

A comon question I get from drivers is; "How long is my certificate good for?" There are several factors that determine the length of time a driver's certificate is good for. The answer to that question is it depends what type of health problems you have and if they are well contolled. The maxium exipration date for a certifcation is 2 years. If you have a medical condition that needs to be treated, such as high blood pressure, a one year certification is typical. There are various medical problems and medications that could require a medical examiner to issue a expiration date for less than one year. If you have any questions about medical expiration dates, please feel free to call my office.
